Define American is committed to internet privacy and makes every effort to ensure the secure collection and transmission of sensitive user information.

When you sign up to receive updates from Define American, or send us your story through our Story Tool, sign a pledge or petition, or make a donation online, you are automatically added to our email list. All communications will come directly from Define American. Define American will not share your personal information with 3rd parties.  Each Define American communication will have an unsubscribe link or some other method by which you can easily opt out of further correspondence.

If you choose to make a donation to Define American, your credit card information will not be used for another purpose or shared with 3rd parties. If you purchase merchandise from our online store, your credit card information will be used only for this transaction through the campaign’s online store using its secure online payment system. Define American does not retain credit card information or transmit it to anyone else.

A common practice on the internet is the use of “cookies.” Define American may place a “cookie,” in your web browser. This cookie is a small file that saves information you give us so that you don’t have to re-enter it each time you visit. This allows us to provide you the best web experience possible on the Define American web site.
